Upon discovering this discrepancy, he promptly applied for inclusion and received approval for his vote. However, due to the unfortunate closure of the Election Commission’s Website on April 22, the necessary steps to rectify the situation were obstructed, leading to the rejection of his nomination.
Handu emphasized that the rejection of his nomination goes beyond the question of victory or defeat in the elections. Rather, it symbolizes the plight of the genocide victim Kashmiri Pandit community’s struggle to assert their presence and identity in the political landscape. He reiterated that the primary objective of his candidacy was to highlight the existence and voice of the marginalized and genocide victim Kashmiri Pandit community on a national platform.
