JAMMU, May 30: Demanding a financial package from the Government, J&K Handicapped Association has said that the lockdown triggered by Coronavirus has caused physical discomfort to physically challenged persons.
In a handout, Association president, Abdul Rashid Bhat said there are many physically challenged people in J&K suffering due to lockdown.
He said that a relief package for physically challenged people will alleviate their frustrations and difficulties and they will not become a burden on others during this lockdown.
“Physically challenged people are already living on the support of their families. Now that every section of the society has been affected by the pandemic, the physically challenged people are being forced to live a life of helplessness,” Bhat claimed adding that the government should announce a package for them as soon as possible and also concede their long pending demands soon as was assured by the Social Welfare Department but nothing done in this regard.
