Hakla for due compensation to border firing victims

JAMMU, Oct 7: Shamsheer Hakla Poonchi a prominent Gujjar leader and intellectual today accused Pakistan of violating the human rights by resorting to unprovoked firing across the border and killing the innocent border denizens across the State.
Hakla who toured various border areas in Poonch said that border people are worst suffers of shelling from across, as besides the loss of precious lives they are suffering a heavy loss of property and animals.
He demanded that Government should provide adequate compensation to the border people who have been hit by the unprovoked shelling by enemy country. He said the next kin of those killed in firing be provided a government job, besides the border people who also belong to Gujjar and Bakerwal community be allotted land in safer areas.
He said the Gujjars being true patriots have always fought with shoulder to shoulder with Army in the State to defeat the nefarious designs of enemy and many Gujjar leaders have attained martyrdom in defending the motherland.
He said Gujjars and Bakerwals having a different way of life and being backward than other communities need special attention from Government for their development and upliftment. The special schemes need to be launched for their welfare, he added.
