NEW DELHI, Jan 29: In an effort to make the Haj travel process more transparent and pilgrim-friendly, the Haj Committee of India has rolled out an online self-booking facility for air tickets for Haj-2026 pilgrims.

As per an official circular, eligible pilgrims can now reserve their flights directly by logging into the Haj Committee of India website or through the Haj Suvidha mobile application. This optional service will remain open for a short window of four days, beginning January 29, 2026.
The new system allows pilgrims to select flights of their choice, depending on seat availability and operational feasibility. Those who choose not to use the self-booking option within the given timeframe will have their flights assigned by the Haj Committee, without accommodating individual preferences related to travel dates or flight selection.
The Haj Committee has clarified that requests for change of flight or journey date submitted through offline means, including letters or emails, will not be considered under any circumstances.
However, the facility will not be applicable to pilgrims travelling under Johfa, LWM and Rubath categories, or those belonging to certain smaller States and Union Territories where travel arrangements are handled by the respective State Haj Committees. In such cases, flight allocation will continue to be done centrally by the Haj Committee of India.
Once a booking is confirmed, no modification will be allowed. The Committee has also stated that it retains the authority to alter flight schedules or cancel travel plans if required due to operational or administrative reasons.
To ensure effective implementation, State Haj Committees have been asked to widely publicise the initiative and provide necessary assistance to pilgrims.
Pilgrims have also been encouraged to follow the official Haj Committee WhatsApp channel to receive timely updates and important notifications related to Haj-2026. (Agencies)
