RAMBAN, Mar 6: Ramsoo police arrested a habitual smuggler of illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Ramsoo Police Station laid a naka near Magarkote and intercepted a pedestrian, who tried to run away on seeing cops.
During checking, police team recovered 32 bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Shamas Din, son of Mohammad Yousaf, a resident of Dhardahi Ramsoo, District Ramban. The accused was a habitual smuggler of illicit liquor and runs a shop at main market Magarkote.
A case under FIR Number 13/19 under section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Ramsoo Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Ramsoo Inspector Javaid Iqbal made the arrest under the supervision of Sajjad Sarwar SDPO Banihal, Sanjay Parihar Additional SP Ramban and Anita Sharma SSP Ramban.
