KISHTWAR, Jan 14: Police arrested a hardcore criminal accused of repeatedly raping a minor girl. After his arrest many other minor girls have also reported to have been impregnated by the accused by keeping them under continuous threat.
As per police spokesman, on January 9 this year, a minor girl reported in Police Station Kishtwar that a person identified as Kulbir Singh, son of Musadi Singh, a resident of Kottal Kuntwara has been repeatedly raping her and threatening her to eliminate her if she narrated it to anyone.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 5/18 under Section 376 RPC was registered at Kishtwar Police Station and manhunt was launched to arrest the accused.
Sensing trouble, the accused went underground, however the police constituted various teams and launched manhunt in various areas to arrest the accused.
A police team led by Inspector Sameer Jeelani, SHO Police Station Kishtwar and SI Shahnawaz, Incharge Police post Drabshalla finally arrested the accused Kulbir Singh.
The accused had been hiding in the cave and had accumulated plenty of eatables and warming clothes to evade the arrest by police.
The arrest was made under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary.
The police got the medical examination of the victim conducted, which clearly indicated of her being mercilessly raped on multiple occasions.
SSP Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary said that after the registration of the instant FIR, a couple of other minor girls have also reported to have been repeatedly raped by the same accused. The accused have kept them under continuous threat of eliminating them if they divulged his criminal misdeeds to anyone, SSP added.
