Habitual drug peddler booked, sent to jail

RAMBAN, Apr 30: A habitual drug peddler-cum-bootlegger has been booked by Banihal Police and sent to District Jail Udhampur.
As per police sources, one habitual drug peddler-cum-bootlegger has been, who was active in supplying the drugs and alcohol among the locals of the Banihal area has been apprehended by Banihal Police.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Yaseen Shah, son of Abdul Ahad Shah alias Kubraa, a resident of Krawa, Tehsil Banihal.
The apprehended person used to purchase alcohol from Ramban and cannabis from Valley and then sold it to the youths of the area especially college going students.
As many as six FIRs under Excise and NDPS Act stand registered against the accused. He was also warned many times for his nefarious activities but he did not mend his ways.
Today the accused was taken into preventive custody under section 107, 151 and 110 CrPC and was produced before the Executive Magistrate, who sent him to Distt Jail Udhampur for three months.
The whole exercise was carried out by SHO Banihal Inspector Aejaz Ahmed wani under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Sajad Sarwar and Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parhiar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
