Gypsy stolen from outside DySP’s residence, inquiry ordered

JAMMU, May 10: In a bizarre incident, thieves decamped with the official gypsy allotted to a lady Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) from Nanak Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gandhi Nagar Police Station.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Ajay Kumar, a driver posted in SDRF with Police Station Gandhi Nagar stating that some unknown person(s) decamped with the official gypsy of the DySP Tejinder Kour, Deputy Controller, Civil Defence, Samba, from Nanak Nagar area.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 121/19 under section 379 RPC has been registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, official sources in Department of Home Guard, Civil Defence and SDRF, Jammu said that the departmental vehicle presently allotted to Deputy Controller, Civil Defence, Samba, DySP Tejinder Kour, which was parked outside the residence of DySP at Nanak Nagar Jammu has been stolen during the intervening night of May 9 and 10.
“The men have been told to remain alert and directed to remain extra vigilant and also all the nakas so that the vehicle could be traced out at the earliest”, sources said.
‘Police teams were on job to trace out the official gypsy while an inquiry has also been ordered to ascertain the reason that why official vehicle was used for private travel to residence, they added.
