JAMMU, July 2: Newly elected District Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC), Jammu today declared that Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Hargobind Ji Maharaj will be celebrated on July 5.
While addressing a press conference here today, Ranjeet Singh, newly elected DGPC Jammu president, along with other office bearers, Balvinder Singh- vice president, Surjeet Singh- secretary, Ranvir Singh- joint secretary, Jagpal Singh- treasurer, Gurmeet Singh and Harjeet Singh, Incharge Dharam Parchar Committee DGPC, expressed his deep gratitude and thanks to the entire Sikh community members of Jammu District for their overwhelming support in electing new members by disposing faith in them and giving them an opportunity to serve the community by managing the Gurudwara affairs and as per the aspirations of the Sikh Sangat within the ambit of J&K Sikh Gurudwara and Religious Endowment Act.
Balvinder Singh and Surjeet Singh assured the Sikh community that they will put all best possible efforts to live up to the expectations of Sikh Sangat of Jammu.
The DGPC members further declared that coming Gurupurab will be celebrated on July 5 in connection with the birth anniversary of 6th Guru Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib at Gurudwara Tahli Sahib Jammu. This Gurupurab celebration will be celebrated from 10 AM to 3 PM.
Besides local Ragi Jathas of Bhai Davinder Singh and Bhai Rattan Singh, both Hazuri Ragi Jathaas of DGPC Jammu, other prominent Ragi Jathas and Tadi Jathas participating from outside the state are- Bhai Davinder Singh Hazuri Ragi Sri Darbar Sahib, Bhai Nachattar Singh- Parcharak Gurmat Gyan Missionary College, Ludhiana & Tadi Jatha of Bhai Gurpreet Singh.
