Gupta, Bakaya exhort migrants to vote for peace, stability

JAMMU, May 4: Exuding confidence about victory of the alliance candidates in the ongoing Parliamentary elections, senior National Conference leaders Rattan Lal Gupta and Vijay Bakaya today said politics of opportunism and deceit has been rejected by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Your precious vote will be support to the efforts of heralding peace and restoring complete normalcy”, State vice president of the party, Rattan Lal Gupta, told the migrant voters of Baramulla Parliamentary constituency at Upper Trilokpuri here this afternoon.
Gupta said the endeavours of the Government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have succeeded in restoring peace in the Valley, which is needed to be strengthened further and sustained.
Speaking on the occasion, Member Legislative Council, Vijay Bakaya, expressed hope that the electors will make best use of their right of franchise and elect the candidates who will project their urges and aspirations in the highest democratic forum of the country.
Bakaya referred to the problems faced by the displaced Kashmiri people in various camps and outside and said the Government is doing everything possible to mitigate these on priority.
Both Bakaya and Gupta urged the people to vote for Sharief-ud-Din Shariq, saying this will be support to the progressive policies of National Conference which has always strived for amity and tranquility between various segments of the society.
Working president, NC Minority Cell, M K Yogi also addressed the people.
