Sir,
PAGD is an alliance that has been recently designed by main stream political parties in UT of J&K. In its agenda, Alliance vows to work for restoration of statehood status, revival of Article 370 and 35-A and newly enacted land laws. Alliance has also decided to fight DDC elections.
Fighting elections is their right and fighting DDC elections will rehabilitate them. Further the grassroot democratic Institutions in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir will get strengthened. In the past, franchise exercise with regard to local bodies and Panchayats went peacefully, which has stood long delayed. In a democracy opposition is a must. Now when the Gupkar alliance has come into existance, so far so good. The restoration of Article 370 and 35-A is in their agenda. The article stands abrogated by the Parliament that represents every nook and corner of the country. There is a question mark on its restoration. Moreover, some individuals have filed petitions for its restoration in the Supreme Court of India, let us wait and watch for the decision. Abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A grants people the right to purchase land and property in Jammu and Kashmir. It does not take away their right to sell land from the people of Jammu and Kashmir. No body can purchase land here forcibly without the consent of the land owner. So far as statehood of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir is concerned, PM of India has said that Statehood will be restored in the due course of time. We have to believe him.
