Gul stages walk-out

JAMMU, Jan 10: National Conference MLA and former Speaker Mubarak Gul today staged walk-out as his question regarding increase in suicides in Jammu and Kashmir could not be taken up in the Legislative Assembly during the Question Hour.
“This is very important question as such it should be taken up”, Gul said when the Question Hour was about to be over. However, there was no response from the Speaker Kavinder Gupta, who was busy in handling the protesting Opposition MLAs.
On this, Mubarak Gul trooped into the Well of the House and after protesting for sometime staged walkout.
In a written reply to his question, the Minister Incharge Home said that 547 cases of suicide have been registered during the last two years in the State. Of these, 272 cases were registered in 2016 and 275 in 2017 till ending November.
