SRINAGAR, May 27: A meeting of General Purpose Committee (GPC) of Legislative Assembly was held under the chairmanship of Speaker Mubarak Gul here today.
Dy. Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Sartaj Madni, MLAs, Dr. Mustafa Kamal, Yash Paul Kundal, Ashok Kumar Khajuria, Jagdish Raj Sapolia, and Secretary, Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Ramzan, officers and officials of Assembly secretariat were present on the occasion.
The meeting unanimously agreed with the proposal of enhancement of rent of suitable hostel accommodations to the sitting MLAs and other visiting guests to provide better facilities.
The Speaker stressed upon the members to give their suggestions with regard to the improvement and betterment of the facilities being provided to the legislators by the Government.
Mr. Gul stressed upon the concerned authorities to construct a new additional block adjoining the MLAs hostels and upgrade and renovate the old block with facilities of LCD.
The Speaker discussed the matter of introducing Wi-Fi system in Legislative Assembly with Director NIC.
Mr Gul directed the concerned to provide printers (as one time exception) to the MLAs for the laptops already provided to them by the Government.
Commissioner Secretary, IT, Bipul Pathak, Director Estates, M. H. Malik, SE, IT, Dara Singh and SIO, NIC J&K, Abhay Kumar were present in the meeting.
