Gujjars’ plea to PWD

JAMMU, Aug 1: Jammu and Kashmir Gujjar Bakerwal Desh Youth Body demanded Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B) Department, to save the houses of 38 families for unnecessarily removal due to the proposed link road between Jammu Cantt to Raipur Satwari.
Addressing a press conference, State president, J&K Gujjar Bakerwal Desh Youth Body, Choudhary Nazakat Khatana today said that PWD Jammu, recently carried out a survey for construction of 100 feet wide link road between Jammu Cantt and Raipur Satwari via Belicharana.
Maintaining that if the proposal gets approval, the houses of 38 families at Belicharana will have to be removed and in this behalf he demanded to take a minor curve while constructing the road, to prevent the removal of these 38 houses, adding they have already pleaded the case with the Chief Engineer PWD (R&B).
He urged the Chief Engineer to consider their suggestions to save 38 families from unnecessary removal or dislocation.
