JAMMU, Feb 8: To lodge protest against the recent power failure in twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri, Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha held a demonstration at Dak Banglow, Koteranka.
The protest was held under the leadership of its block president Sofi Alam Din of Koteranka.
While addressing the protesters, president Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal, appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene for resolving power crisis in the twin districts. He also demanded a probe into the sudden damage of 18 towers of 132 KV in Poonch-Rajouri area, which were installed only two years back. It is an astonishing fact that all the towers which were installed during the same period have got damaged all of a sudden that too at the same time, he said.
Mr Poswal also appealed CM to ensure that all the villages of the two districts of Poonch and Rajouri may be electrified through RGGY Scheme besides proper functioning of NREGA schemes in the villages of the area.
