Gujjar lawyers unite at GA-500 Conference

JAMMU, Oct 4: The 4th GA-500 Lawyers’ Conference was successfully held at Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust (GDCT), Jammu, under the banner of Akhil Bhartiya Veer Gujjar Adhivakta Parishad (ABVGAP).
The day-long event brought together 70 advocates from J&K, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab and Uttarakhand.
The conference was inaugurated by Javed Iqbal Choudhary, MLA and presided over by a distinguished panel including G.S Awana (former DCP Delhi Police), Ch. Rashid Azam Inqlabi (former Dy. Commissioner J&K, Retd.) and Nighat Sultana (Retd. District Judge).
Arshad Ali Choudhary, Chairman GDCT delivered welcome address. He was assisted by Mohammad Sadiq Azad (general secretary) and Arafat Masud (vice chairman) of the Trust.
In his keynote, Bharat Bhushan Gurjar, founder of ABVGAP, emphasized the need to implement the Advocates Act in J&K to ensure equality for the Bar and strengthen professional rights.
Eminent lawyers including Ranvir Gurjar, Rita Singh, Ravinder Singh, Rehana Gurjar, Yashpal Rana, Saroj Adhana, Mehmood Qari, Anayat Gorsi, Owais Choudhary, Soraj Adhana, Rukhsana Choudhary, Arifa Choudhary, Zulfiqar Inqlabi and Jameel Choudhary talked on justice, law reforms and community empowerment.
Zaffar Iqbal Jagil paid tribute to Late Dr. Masud Ahmed Choudhary, founder of GDCT. A two-minute silence was observed in memory of Justice Balbir Singh Gurjar, Retd. District & Sessions Judge, Haryana.
Trustees and patrons of GDCT who were honoured for their contributions on this occasion included Ch. Shouket Javed, Ch. Farooq Alam Thekria, Fareed Ahmed Choudhary, Ch. Iftikhar Ahmed (SSP), Inzar Ahmed Rana and Gulam Rasool.
Ch. Rashid Azam Inqlabi also spoke on the occasion.
The conference concluded with a vote of thanks and collective resolve to expand the GA-500 network across India. It was decided that the next GA-500 Lawyers’ Conference will be hosted in Madhya Pradesh.
