The representatives of the AJKBC said that the Gujjar-Bakerwal community is 3rd largest in Jammu and Kashmir, but despite that, they have been ignored by the Government due to which they are facing a lot of problems
“Forest Rights Act which became a myth in the UT has not been implemented yet; while we wait for the Government to implement the same, we are facing several problems,” they said.
They said that before the delimitation, they demand their reserve seats in the areas where the majority is that of the Gujjar Bakerwals. “It is our right and we should be given the same as the law,” they said.
They said with theirs being the third largest community in the UT of J&K, “we still are without land, houses, graveyards, Roads; our life was nomadic and that is now in danger,” they said.
The representatives also alleged that the fake ST certificates are being issued by the administration and that the concerned higher-ups should take note of that cancel the same without any delay.
