Gujarat resident arrested with cannabis

RAMBAN, June 29: Banihal police arrested a Gujarat resident and recovered large quantity of cannabis from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Banihal Police Station laid a naka at T Chowk and intercepted a person, who was trying to hide himself from the cops.
During checking, police recovered 1.300 kilograms of cannabis from the bag being carried by the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Iqbal Bhi, son of Kasam Bhi, a resident of Gujarat.
During preliminary investigation, it has been established that the accused frequently visits Kashmir and used to smuggle cannabis to Gujarat.
A case under FIR Number 108/18 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Inspector Aejaz Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Sajad Sarwa, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Mohan Lal.
