Guargum futures fall on selling pressure

NEW DELHI, Aug 5:  Guargum prices slumped by Rs 190 to Rs 12,310 per quintal in future trading today on increased selling by traders, guided by lower domestic spot markets sentiment.
Marketmen said increased arrivals and reduced off-take in physical markets mainly pulled down guargum futures prices.
Fall in export demand from petroleum drilling units also put pressure on prices, they added.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guargum prices for November contract dropped by Rs 190, or 1.52 per cent to Rs 12,310 per quintal, in an open interest of 1,147 lots.
October contract also fell by Rs 150, or 1.19 per cent to Rs 12,430 per quintal, showing an open interest of 2,476 lots. (PTI)
