GST in J&K

Sir,
It is strange that while almost all states in the country have passed GST Act at their end and are quite ready for its implementation, only the state of Jammu and Kashmir has not followed them and it is held up for want of what is called general consensus to be reached on the issue. Though none objects to its being very much beneficial for the state as well as the  country but non issues like Article 370 and taking on board views of all “Stake Holders” etc are dragged into its implementation.
Everyone knows about the position of  the revenue receipts of the Government and its inability in even making timely payment of wages and salaries and pension to its employees and that the state is wholly dependent on the Centre, implementation of GST will come handy to the State Government as it has potentiality to augment its resources.
It is hoped that the traditional type of state politics shall not be allowed to meddle with the revolutionary tax reforms in the shape of GST which means one tax, one nation and one country.The state stands benefitted as many as 66 items are with slashed rates.
