GRP arrests bootlegger

SAMBA, Mar 1: A police team of Police Post GRP, Bari Brahmana while performing duties at Fatak point railway track at Km 88.2 rounded up a person who was moving suspiciously.
On seeing the police party approaching towards him, the suspect tried to escape from the spot. However with the swift action of the police team, the suspect was apprehended.
During search, 52 bottles (Quarters) of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession. In this connection, a case under 48 Excise Act was registered at Police Station GRP Jammu and accused was arrested.
The accused has been identified as Saman Kumar, son of Damodar Dass of Jharkhand at present Bari Brahmna. Further investigation of the case is going on. The arrest and recovery was made under the overall supervision of SSP GRP Jammu, SDPO GRP Jammu, SHO P/S GRP Jammu and I/C PP GRP Bari Brahmana.
