NEW DELHI, Feb 24: Media and marketing solutions firm, GroupM has bagged the contract to manage telecom services provider Airtel’s media account that is estimated to be worth around Rs 400 crore.
Commenting on the new account, GroupM South Asia CEO CVL Srinivas said: “The GroupM network has been at the forefront of creating innovative media solutions for our clients… Our network is delighted to be chosen by Airtel as its media partner.”
GroupM said the account mandate includes both traditional and digital media.
When contacted, Airtel declined to comment.
GroupM also did not divulge the size of the account and the duration of the contract.
However, industry sources said the account size is estimated to be around Rs 400 crore.
“The business will be handled from the Gurgaon office under Team Airtel, a unit that is being set up under the leadership of Mausumi Kar, a senior GroupM resource who has over 15 years of media experience,” GroupM said in a statement.
Prior to GroupM, Madison Media was handling Airtel’s media account. (PTI)
