KATHUA, June 21: Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) national leader, Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal appreciated Indian security forces which today killed 11 terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory during last some days .
Talking with media persons here today, national secretary BJP Kisan Morcha and Prabhari Jammu and Kashmir, Union Territory Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that according to official reports, at least three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces were holed up inside a house Zadibal area of Jammu and Kashmir Valley Srinagar today.
Grewal stated that two day back three militants were killed at Avantipora in Pulwama, five were killed in Shopian. The two militants took refuge inside a huge local Jamia mosque for several hours and disobeyed the appeal made by Imam to surrender himself.
He said that after receiving specific information about the presence of the terrorists there, our security forces laid siege to the area and carried out a shelling in which both the terrorists were neutralized. He said that after retaliating the search party by the terrorists there, the operation turned into an encounter by retaliating.
Grewal said while operating in Mej Pampore, the entire sanctity of the mosque was maintained. The local people and the Mosque Committee expressed happiness and complimented the District Police Chief, Tahir for patience and good care. He also praised the army and CRPF involved in the operation for the restraint.
He said that according to official reports, another militant was shot dead by the army in Mund area of Shopian district. He said that the three slain terrorists, according to officials, were associated with the Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist organization.
Grewal said that the Avantipora police, along with the Indian Army and other security forces, launched an operation at village Mej Pampore. The target was a house adjoining a large mosque. After the initial exchange of fire, a grenade was thrown out while the cordon was being laid. After this, the terrorists shifted to the mosque, a terrorist has been killed in the operation.
