JAMMU, Dec 17: In connection with the 350th Prakash Diwas of Guru Gobind Singh ji, a grand Nagar Kirtan was taken out by Sikh community with great religious enthusiasm from Rajouri- Poonch and Akhnoor areas today.
The religious procession was received by Jammu Kashmir State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board and DGPC Jammu at Talab Tillo here this evening. It was organised with the cooperation of DGPC Rajouri and entire Sangat of this area.
Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Gurdwara Parbandhak Board TS Wazir told the media that two Nagar Kirtans from Kathua- Samba and Doda – Udhampur belt have already been organized with the cooperation of respective District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committees. They were received in Jammu on December 3 and 10. Several religious functions were held at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Guru Nanak Nagar, Jammu and Gurdwara Kalgidhar Sahib, Rehari in this connection.
Today’s grand Nagar Kirtan was first received at Domana where TS Wazir (SGPB), Sant Tejwant Singh, Mohinder Singh (DGPC member) along with large number of Sikh religious and social leaders and DGPC Jammu members welcomed the Sangat of Nagar Kirtan comprising of hundreds of devotees at Gurdwara Talib Sahib, Talab Tillo, Jammu.
A grand `Gurmat Samagam’ was organized by Jammu Kashmir Gurdwara Parbandhak Board and DGPC Jammu in which Hazoori Ragi of Sri Darbar Sahib Bhai Kuldeep Singh Ji and other local Jathas recited the Gurbani. Prominent Sikh preacher Bhai Harmeet Singh of Jammu and Dhaddi Jatha of Bhai Amrik Singh of Punjab threw light on the life and achievement of Guru Gobind Singh Ji for Khalsa Panth. BS Tiger, president DGPC Rajouri also addressed the gathering.
Wazir thanked the gathering and said that while commemorating this historical occasion the Board have organized different Nagar Kirtan from various districts of Jammu province to spread the message of Guru Gobind Singh Ji for protection of righteousness and to unite the Sikh community of Jammu and Kashmir on this occasion. He disclosed that now another Nagar Kirtan from RS Pura, Simbal belt will be received at Gurdwara Guru Nanak Sahib at Chand Nagar Jammu on December 24.
Another grand function will be held here on January 5 and Nagtgar Kirtan in Jammu on January 2, 2017. Similarly a seminar is being organized on 26.12.2016 at Zorawar Auditorium University of Jammu in which Prominent Sikh Scholars from various parts of the country will participate.
