JAMMU, Mar 4: Sarva Shakti Sewa Sanstha organized a grand Chandi Mata Jagran at Hari Niwas Palace which is first of its kind in Jammu.
Thousands of people from different parts of the State including former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta, BJP State President Sat Paul Sharma, MLA Daleep Parihar, Forest Minister Lal Singh, MoS Sunil Sharma, former Minister Sukhnandan, MLC Vikram Randhawa, MLA Devender Singh Rana, IGP Jammu Dr SD Singh Jamwal, Ranjeet Kalra and several others attended the function who are welcomed by MLC Ajat Shatru Singh and his wife Ritu Singh.
The occasion was graced by the presence of spiritual personalities like Mukya Pujari of Mata Vaishnu Shri Darshan Ji, Pujari Ji of Mata Sukhrala Mandir Shri Tript and Mukhya Pujari of Chandi Mata Machail Shri Des Raj.
The Jagran started with Bhog followed by grand Arti at around 8.30 pm yesterday and continued till today morning.
During 10 hour long Jagran, the renowned singers Sewa Ram, Daljeet Singh Rathore, Surinder Manhas, Naveen Punjabi, Komal Sharma, Suraj Singh Chib, Nek Chand Diman, Varsha Jamwal, Marina Manhas, Shilvi Jain, Neeru Rana and others sung dozens of Bhajan praising Maa Chandi.
Speaking on this occasion Mukya Pujari of Mata Vaishnu Shri Darshan Ji threw the light on the spirituality and life of Mata Chandi followed by his sermon on role of religious in promoting peace and communal harmony.
On the occasion, Ritu Singh also performed Kud Dance with other devotees, which is said to be a favorite and traditional dance of Mata Chandi. Sanstha President Nek Ram Manhas along with other members of the Sanstha presented vote of thanks.
