Grameen Bank organizes awareness programme on Financial Inclusion

JAMMU, Mar 4: J&K Grameen Bank organized awareness programme on Financial Inclusion in collaboration with NABARD at Sure Chack, Phallian. district, Jammu, today.
Chairman J&K Grameen Bank, R K Chhibber, who was the chief guest on the occasion, spoke at length about various bank schemes i.e., Farmer Clubs (FCs), Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Joint Liability Groups (JLGs).
Chhibber highlighted that Joint Liability Group approach is an effective credit delivery methodology for banks to reach clients like small farmers, marginal farmers, tenant farmers, share croppers, oral lessees and also micro entrepreneurs and therefore an important tool for poverty alleviation and social cohesion.
Speaking on the occasion, V K Sharma Senior Manager MF&FI Department, J&K Grameen Bank, informed the participants at length regarding the benefits of social security schemes.
Area Manager Jammu, Randhir Singh Billawria, spoke at length about the various Bank/NABARD schemes.
FLCC Jammu, Mohinder Kumar also spoke about various bank schemes and training being imparted by them.
Kavi Raj, president and Yash Paul organizer of Tawi Welfare Society appreciated J&K Grameen Banks initiatives for organizing such type of camps in villages to impart financial literacy to the villagers.
A memento was also presented to Chairman J&K Grameen Bank by the society.
Among other, BDO and BMO Mandal admired the efforts of J&K Grameen Bank for organizing such awareness Programme.
Besides huge gathering Panchs, Sarpanchs of the area and representatives of other Line Departments also attended the said camps. Branch Head, Phallian presented vote of thanks.
