JAMMU, June 28: Resenting the recent order of temporary promotions by the Agriculture Production Department, Jammu Kashmir Graduate Promotee Agriculture Officers Association has urged Governor J&K, Advisor to the Governor and Chief Secretary to look into the matter.
President JKGPAOA, Raghuvir Chand appealed for conducting Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) to promote VEWs/JAAs/JAEOs to class-VII gazetted by fixing the seniority list for further promotion to class-VI and above. He lamented on denial of promotions to promotees as per their due quota for decades together and further stated that the alleged injustice dragged the deserving candidates to file various court cases and in one surprising instance, the J&K Government Agriculture Production Department (JKAPD) instead of implementing the judgement of High Court filed LPA which harassed the genuine claimants as it lingered the DPC process.
However, he added, keeping aside all the High Court stays and directions, the Government meanwhile issued impugned orders of temporary promotions and further complicated the process of functional promotions. He once again appealed Governor to intervene and give justice to the aggrieved officers who are suffering from more than three decades.
The Promotee Agriculture Graduate Officers had earlier also made a representation before Advisors, Commissioner Secretary Agriculture Production Department for redressal of genuine demands but Agriculture Production Department denied just and genuine demand of Promotee Agriculture Graduate Officers.
