JAMMU, Mar 19: Two poetry books of Ashok Dhar Gowhar, Bittuer Tee Bawath and Yee Naar Kar Tchevee were released at a simple but impressive function held at K L Sehgal Hall here, today.
The function was organized by Pir Panchal a social cultural organization (CESES). Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor of  Central University, Jammu presided over the function and Zaffar Iqbal Manhas MLC and vice president J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages was the chief guest while Manoj Pandita (Sheree), AIG Welfare and Communication , P N Shad renowned poet and writer and Mir Afroz were the guests of honour.
The function was attended by galaxy of poets, thinkers and community leaders. The stage was managed by P K Raina a well known broadcaster.
In his address VC, CU, Prof Ashok Aima highlighted the role of Radio Sharda and said that this is the only success story after the mass exodus of the Pandits which has given a new lease of life to poets and intellectuals of Kashmiri language in exile. He, while commenting on the poetry books of Gowhar described him one of the best poets among the new generation. He expressed the hope that the poets and intellectuals will try to transform society by sharing their thoughts in a positive way.
Zafar Iqbal Manhas said the cultural and social organizations among the displaced people should take a cue from Pir Panchal which has worked a lot in preserving the culture and language in alien land. He said the poets, writers and artists of the State need to play a great role in bridging the gaps between the regions of the State. He while taking a cursory review of Gowhar’s poetry described him a good poet with full command and control over the language.
Manoj Pandit (Sheree) spoke on the values the community has imbibed from the ancestors and suggested ways and means that how it can percolate and disseminate in the younger generations. “We have to work hard to teach our generations about the civilization concepts so that our posterity is inclined to the literature and language’’, he added.
Ramesh Hangloo president Pir Panchal said “we have glorified history and culture and we need to imbibe these values among younger generations’’. He said the organization is working for nourishing the language and cultural and  highlighted the role of Radio Sharda in bringing different sects together by acting as a bridge.
P N Shad said that the Government need to encourage the work of poets and writers in a proper manner and lauded the writers for their hard work and efforts in exile.
J K Raina, Aadarsh Anand and K K Koul among others attended the function.
