JAMMU, Mar 19: Having embarked on the journey of promoting and preserving the traditional rich genre of the theatre art, folk music and dance of all three regions of the State which include the `Bhand-Pa’ather’ of Kashmir , Achi Lamo & Manay Pa of Ladakh and Raas and Bhagat of Jammu region, Chinar Art Foundation Jammu (CAFJ) with the support of Bharatiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) presented a cultural show Mafil-e-Kalakar at Abhinav Theatre here.
The event was held to showcase theatrical play titled Ra’sasi Aagur ( the lost origin). The play written by J K Koul Bezan a renowned writer was directed by Sachin Dhar, a freelance T V producer and film editor which mesmerized the audience.
The play based on social themes brought to the fore the essence of maintaining the peace, order and tranquility and preserving the moral values for the welfare of the society. The performance of Kusum Dhar a senior theatre and TV artist, Manoj Bhat , Sunny Manjoo, Rahul Pandita, Rajesh Khar and Anil Koul Chingari was superb.
The performance of budding amateur theatre artists Ajay Dhar, Meenakshi Bhan, Nitika Bhan, Ajay Waguzari, and Ramesh Razdan was capitulating.
Vir Ji Sumbli as set designer, Pankaj Handoo as choreographer, Rajesh Khar as musician, Lokesh and Pankaj, technical support providers and Shammi Dhamir as make up man contributed in adding beauty and grandeur to the play.
Ritu Mehra a well known TV and stage artist provided back stage management.
Sanjay Saraf national spokesman and youth president, LJP was the chief guest on the occasion while Vijay Bakaya former Chief Secretary and ex MLC, Advocate Ravinder Raina president ASKPC, and M L Dogra Chairman, Bharatiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS), Kuldeep Khoda, former Chief Vigilance Commissioner, Bansi Matoo a veteran T V artist, Dr Indu Koul were the guests of honour. Besides, a galaxy of T V artists witnessed the programme.
Pran Pandit patron Chinar read the welcome address. The Chinar Art Foundation Certificates of Life time achievements were given to M P Sharma, Mushtaq Ali Ahmad Khan and Kanwal Razdan in recognition of their meritorious services.
The vote of thanks was presented by Rajesh Khar secretary of the Organization.
