JAMMU, Nov 21: In a major decision, the Government has waived off school fee of all girl students in State-run educational institutions up to higher secondary level.
The announcement in this regard was made by the PDP-BJP Coalition Government while presenting Budget in the State Legislature for the current financial year.
“In order to encourage enrolment of girl students in schools and to further incentivize their education, sanction has been accorded to waive off school fee charged from girl students in State run educational institutions up to the higher secondary level with immediate effect”, reads an order issued by Shaleen Kabra, Commissioner/Secretary to Government, School Education Department.
