JAMMU, Jan 10: Jammu Province Contractors Association (JPCA) lashed out at the Government for ignoring the local contractors.
Addressing a press conference, JPCA President Suraj Mahendru alleged that Government is sidelining the local contractors of Jammu Province without any reason. He criticized the Government of waging a war against the local contractors by promoting MNC in the State.
Mahendru while showing his resentment against the Government said that local contractors of Jammu region are well equipped with latest machinery and tools to carry out the projects but the Government is promoting MNCs in the State which is major threat for local contractors who have invested their hard earned money in brining high-tech machinery in the State. He also said that local contractors are highly professional and have experience of about 20 to 25 years.
“The present regime has become a trouble for economic development of Jammu region. Just to keep the MNCs happy, they are ruining the lives of local contractors”, alleged JPCA President.
He also alleged that even Court order which restricts out of State numbered dumpers from working within the State is being violated by these MNCs. He also said that Project Directors of these MNCs hire their own contractors for execution of the tender which also is cause of worry. Payments of local contractors who are hired by these MNCs are being delayed for no reasons, he stated.
General Secretary Inderpreet Singh, Secretary Kuldeep Sharma and Cashier Rajinder Singh also expressed their views.
Among others present were Vijay Khajuria, Rakesh Bodhi, Chetan Chopra, Munish Sharma, Vikas Sharma, Kapil Sharma, Randhir Singh, Gian Singh and Swarn Singh.
