JAMMU, Oct 6: All India Gujjar Mahasabha (AIGM) today appealed the Government to make arrangements for the stay of border people, who have migrated in view of cross-firing at LoC and IB in Jammu and other districts.
The issue was discussed during a meeting of the Sabha held today under the leadership of Bashir Ahmed Khatana, National vice president of the Sabha. The office bearers of the State unit of the Sabha including president, Molvi Mohd Ibrahim, also participated in the meeting.
The participants expressed solidarity towards the migrants (particularly Gujjars) of border areas for loss of their livestock, which they could not carry while migrating to safe places. Alleging that no arrangements have been made for the stay of these border people, the meeting appealed the Government to make arrangements for their shelter and provide them other necessities of life.
