POONCH, June 10: Expressing concern that the mobile schools set up for the Gujjar and Bakerwal children moving one place to other place are not moving with the nomads during their migration to hilly areas and when they return the schools also are not functioning in the plains were they put up, prominent Gujjar leader and intellectual of the State Shamsher Hakla Poonchi has ought the attention of the Tribal Minister in this regard and urged him to look into the issue.
In a statement issued here today Hakla strongly appealed the government to setup more mobile schools for nomadic Gujjar Bakerwal up to high school and it should be also assured that these mobile schools move with the nomadic Gujjar-Bakerwal, when in Summer they move to upper region (Dhok) and in Winter to the plain areas. He demanded that these mobile schools should function regularly with them, so that the education facilities of these Nomadic Gujjar-Bakerwal can be fulfilled.
