Govt trying to divert public attention: Manohar

JAMMU, Oct 5: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Dr Manohar  Lal Sharma strongly criticized the BJP led Central Government  for allegedly diverting the attention of the public from its  failures.
Addressing various public meetings during his tour of  Billawar constituency,   the PCC general secretary said that Government has failed on all the fronts and now taking benefit of the situation, it is trying to divert the attention of the general public by its acts.
The Congress leader alleged that Government is making Shrine Boards defunct. He referred to the condition of  Mata Bala Sundri and Sukrala Mata Shrine Boards in Billawar area. He alleged that the Board failed to convene even a single meeting of the  Boards in last  two years. He alleged that condition  of these  shrines have deteriorated.
Dr Sharma pointed out that local people and devotees have shown deep anguish over the functioning of the Board. No improvement has been shown in past two years. Condition of toilets is bad and sufficient parking space is not available there.  No maintenance work  is being executed there.  He pointed out that sufficient funds were available with the Board but affected steps are awaited.
Dr Sharma claimed that some work were started there at the site some time back   were later  abandoned.  Several facilities meant for the public are missing at the shrine site. Several works of important nature are needed top be executed  there on prioity, Dr Sharma added.
