JAMMU, Mar 31: An awareness-cum-training camp was organised by Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Jammu, Akanksha Kalsotra today. The programe marked the culmination of 15 day long ‘Poshan Pakhwada’ which started on March 16, across whole of India.
On the occasion, District Program Officer, Jammu, Natasha Kalsotra, Amit Gupta, Corporator of Ward No. 19, District Social Welfare Officer, Jammu, Ajay Salaan, Chief Medical Officer Jammu, Dr. J P Singh, and ADMO AYUSH Jammu, Dr. Suresh Sharma, were present.
The Supervisors, Health staff, Anganwadi workers and beneficiaries of ICDS Project Jammu also attended.
Lecture was delivered by CDPO Jammu, highlighting the importance of Poshan (Nutrition), so that the nutritional status among beneficiaries of Anganwadi Centres can be improved. Different nutrition items were also displayed which were prepared in the Anganwadi Centres.
Amit Gupta and Dr. Suresh also spoke on the occasion, while Dr. Manisha, AYUSH Expert, and Dr. Pallavi, Lecturer Paediatrics, SMGS Hospital delivered specialised lectures. Demonstration was also given to Anganwadi workers to operate the different equipments of growth monitoring.
AYUSH medicines and immunity booster kits were distributed among the beneficiaries and staff of ICDS Project Jammu.
Signboards for Anganwadi Centres were inaugurated by the guests.
