Govt to handover Gilsar, Khushal Sar to LCMA: NLCO

SRINAGAR, June 8: The Nigeen Lake Conservation Organization (NLCO) today said that the twin urban lakes, Gilsar and Khushal Sar are set to be handed over to JK LC&MA for better conservation.
The information about the same was given by Dheeraj Gupta, Principal Secretary to Govt, Housing & Urban Development Department during a visit to the Gilsar, Khushal Sar.
In this regard, NLCO said that Dheeraj Gupta on the invitation of NLCO made a special visit to Gilsar-Khushal Sar along with Commissioner SMC Athar Aamir Khan and the officials of JK LC&MA.
“The special visit of the Principal Secretary and the team started with the visit at Sazgaripora where president NLCO Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo apprised the visiting officials about the ongoing cleansing work near Sazgaripora under NLCO’s flagship community-led initiative Mission Ehsaas Phase-2,” NLCO said
It said that the team headed by Principal Secretary appreciated the efforts made by NLCO towards the restoration and revival of almost dead Khushal Sar Lake.
Principal Secretary, on the occasion also interacted with the residents and stakeholders, while assuring the administration’s full support in the lake’s restoration.
President NLCO took the team headed by Principal Secretary to Gill Kadal, where he declared that the twin lakes will now be handed over to LC&MA for better management and sustained conservation.
