RAJOURI:: Minister for Sheep, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli today said that the government has taken all possible measures for the safety of people living along the LoC.
The Minister was speaking at a joint meeting of government functionaries and villagers affected by recent cross-LoC firing in Nowshera sector.
MLA Nowshera, Ravinder Raina was also present in the meeting convened to discuss exigency plan for the safety of people and livestock in case of escalation of firing in the area.
The civil and Police functionaries, district officers and officials of Animal Husbandry and Sheep Husbandry informed the meeting about the preparedness made to meet any eventuality. It was informed that adequate safety arrangements have been made by establishing rescue and relief camps in the area.
The Minister directed the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer to keep standby adequate teams of veterinary doctors to save injured livestock in case of heavy shelling.
The meeting was further informed that ambulances equipped with medicines and necessary staff have been kept standby to attend to emergency situations.
The Minister directed the concerned officers to assess the damages to the people’s property, including livestock and crops so that people affected families are duly compensated.
