JAMMU, Mar 8: Maintaining that the present Government was committed to address the people’s problems on fast-track basis, Minister for Forest and Social Welfare, Bali Bhagat today said that the administration will be revamped and made more accountable to the people.
Addressing a large gathering of ex-servicemen at village Gharota, near here, the Minister said that people have great hopes from the PDP-BJP Government and every effort will be made to fulfill the promises it has made with the people before the elections.
He said that Government will focus on upgradation of basic services like water, road connectivity, education, health and electricity. All welfare schemes will also get impetus so that their benefits reach out to the needy sections of the society.
Responding to the demands of the locals, the Minister announced construction of a Community Hall at village Gharota. He asked the locals to submit their demands so that these are addressed in a phased manner.
Regarding the demand of ex-servicemen about abolishing VAT on canteen goods, he said the issue is quite genuine and needs to be addressed on priority. He assured to take up the issue with the Finance Minister for an appropriate action soon.
