Govt should talk to real migrants: AMCCC

JAMMU, June 21: A meeting of All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) was held under the chairmanship of Desh Rattan here today.
The meeting expressed concern over the statement of some KP leaders on return to Valley. It urged the Union Home Minister that the Government should talk to real migrants who have suffered the pangs of turmoil in camps and non camp areas during last 25 years.
The meeting said that the leaders who are well settled outside J&K and have left Valley over 60 years back have no right to represent the migrants. It said they have no right to talk on behalf of migrants -the real sufferers of turmoil as they are trying the sabotage the return process.
They said the community has not given any mandate to such leaders to represent them. The meeting said that these people never though about the KP youth who have become over aged over the last 25 years.
The meeting urged the Government to settle the KPs issue during the coming Parliament session and also remove illegal encroachments.
AMCCC leaders A N Dhar, S K Bhat, R N Pandita attended the meeting and welcomed the PM’s initiative on return.
