Govt SPMR Commerce College inaugurates 7-days camp

JAMMU, June 19: NSS Wing of Govt SPMR College of Commerce today inaugurated seven day Yoga camp under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The programme began with Yoga Demonstration given by about 30 NSS volunteers along with the staff members of the college. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Surinder Kumar, Principal of the College highlighted the unifying force of Yoga, its immense benefits and said how Yoga has become the part of global calendar.
“Such events in the college premises play vital role in inculcating a sense of responsibility in students”, he said. He also actively participated in practice session along with the other faculty members and students.
Prof Deepshikha Sharma, NSS PO also stressed on the multiple benefits of the Yoga for strong mind and healthy body. She said world needs Yoga and meditation more than ever. Prof Apfan Ali, NSS PO focused on the benefits of practicing Yoga in everyday life and enlightened the participants about scientific relevance and said how Yoga benefits in reducing the stress.
Raman Kumar Sharma, Supervisory Pharmacist was the Resource Person/ Yoga Instructor on the occasion. He introduced the participants with Yogasana, Kabalbhati, Pranayama, Dhyna, Sankalapa and Meditation.
The faculty members present on the occasion were Prof Barbara Kaul, HoD Commerce, Dr Nazia Rasool, HoD EVS, Prof Harpreet Kour.
