Govt should fulfill its commitment on trifurcation of UT: Agnishekhar

JAMMU, Mar 30: Dr. Agnishekhar, Convenor Panun Kashmir (PK) , today engaged in a profound and enlightening dialogue with a delegation representing various facets of Kashmiri society. The delegation, with sincere concern, expressed their apprehensions regarding the intricacies surrounding the M form, a pivotal document for inclusion in the voter lists.
Dr. Agnishekhar reiterated Panun Kashmir’s unwavering stance against the transfer of votes to Kashmir while the community of Kashmiri Pandits continues to languish in exile. With a deep sense of responsibility and a keen understanding of the historical context, Dr. Agnishekhar underscored the inherent complexities and sensitivities surrounding the issue, emphasizing the imperative need for a holistic and inclusive approach to address the multifaceted challenges faced by the community.
Acknowledging the commendable efforts of the present Government, Dr. Agnishekhar commended the epochal decision to neutralize Article 370 and abrogate Article 35A, recognizing them as significant steps towards fostering inclusivity, development, and prosperity in the region by breaking the hegemony of Kashmir based political and separatist systems. However, amidst the backdrop of these transformative reforms, Dr. Agnishekhar candidly highlighted the palpable absence of genuine empathy towards the plight of Kashmiri Pandits, lamenting the prevalence of mere jargon and rhetoric , like setting 30,000 Kashmiri Pandits in Valley which is an egregious statement in lieu of substantive actions and tangible measures.
He said despite these reservations, PK steadfastly reaffirms its unequivocal support for Prime Minister, Modi and his Government, buoyed by the tangible progress achieved in fulfilling several demands outlined in the Margdarshan resolution. Dr. Agnishekhar expressed cautious optimism and unwavering hope that the Government would demonstrate its commitment to addressing the ultimate demand for further trifurcation through the judicious reorganization of the UT, thereby ensuring the equitable representation and empowerment of all stakeholders, including the marginalized and displaced Kashmiri Pandit community.
PK remains resolutely committed to its founding principles and core values, serving as a beacon of hope and resilience for the KP diaspora. Through unwavering advocacy and relentless pursuit of justice, it continues to champion the rights and aspirations of the community, striving tirelessly towards the realization of their long-cherished dream of dignified return and rightful restitution in their ancestral homeland by carving out a separate homeland “Panun Kashmir “as envisaged in Margdarshan resolution.
