Govt should come to rescue of abandoned migrant families: JTC

JAMMU, Aug 12: A joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) was held here, today under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita.
It discussed various issues including the problems of the single and two soul migrant families whose children after getting married have left their old aged parents to lead a miserable life.
Presently such single and two soul families dependent on relief are being paid financial assistance of Rs 3250/- per soul per month.
The meeting said that such old aged single/two soul families are confronted to lot of sufferings. Due to advanced age they have developed multiple ailments, like kidney problems, heart problems, diabetics, hypertension etc. So they are unable to manage their domestic needs and medical expenses with this meager financial assistance which has resulted that a good number of such migrants have untimely breathed their last due to lack of proper resources to meet medical expenses.
The meeting demanded that the Government should come to rescue of such old aged single soul/two soul families by granting Rs.13000 monthly financial assistance relief to two soul families and Rs.6500/- to single soul families to save them from any further trouble.
