Govt seeks strict implementation of ban on smoking in offices

JAMMU, Apr 4: The State Government has directed all the concerned officers to ensure strict implementation of the ban on smoking in all the State Department offices and initiate appropriate penal action against the defaulters.
In this connection, the SP (Security) Civil Secretariat has been asked to ensure that no person is allowed to carry cigarettes and other tobacco products within the Civil Secretariat premises.
A circular in this regard was issued today by the General Administration Department with an observation that violations of the provisions of tobacco prohibition were being reported from some offices.
