Govt should resolve issues of industrialists: Bhalla

JAMMU, June 4: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla has said that developed industrial sector, covering different areas is vital to the economic development of a country.
Talking to a deputation of  business community here today Mr Bhalla said that industries play an  important role in the economy of any country.  The Congress leader assured that with the support of all constituents of Federation of Industries from Bari Brahmana,  Digiana, Gangyal,  Samba  and Kathua, the relevant issues pertaining to the industrial sector, especially the local entrepreneurs of Micro & Small Enterprises (MSE units) of Jammu province will be taken up with the State Govt Departments and its functionaries to solve their burning problems.
He further said that Govt should solve issues like Central package of incentives which has been partially withdrawn in steps. In addition to this, he said, Govt should focus on bringing new investments in our region from outside the State as well as inside the State and making all efforts for growth, promotion and sustainability of the existing industry.
Bhalla criticized the policies of State and Central Governments for framing faulty policies that in turn allowed inequitable industrial growth in the State in contrast to their own commitments on promoting equitability. The Directorate of Industries Jammu should also take up these issues with the Government along with other genuine problems of Jammu based units. He said that the Directorate of Industries in Jammu with all its wings and subordinate offices should rededicate for evolving policies and programs aimed at bringing back the industrial sector in Jammu to rails. The Directorate should delegate more and more powers to the DICs with accountability and confine itself to work on advising the State Government on working towards fresh policy formulations, creating new industrial estates and common facility Centres, facilitating on modernization and technology up-gradation, developing human resources and other such jobs.
Bhalla emphasized the need for revival of sick industrial units with required interventions and policies on providing adequate soft loan to these units besides other facilities. He said majority of industrial units had been rendered sick need all support and applaud. He stressed on adherence of the marketing policy by Government departments in letter and spirit.
