Govt Polytechnic Jammu organizes seminar on ‘Stress Management’

JAMMU, Apr 18: Government Polytechnic College Jammu organized a seminar on `Stress Management’ in collaboration with Youth for Global Peace & Transformation (YGPT) for the staff and students of the college.
While speaking on the occasion, Er Arun Bangotra, Principal of the college, threw light on Stress Management. He said that mental health has become a major concern amongst the youth of today and the suicide rate in the country is on the rise. He stressed that such sessions are necessary for the enhancement of overall mental health and emotional intelligence of students and staff.
Maitreyi Sonee, an author, designer and a very active volunteer at Maitri Bodh Parivaar was the resource person for the seminar. The seminar covered different triggers & causes for stress especially in today’s fast paced world and how it has a debilitating effect on one’s daily life. It also highlighted the root cause of stress and various techniques to deal with it.
In addition to Maitreyi Sonee, Dr Meenu Jain, Rashmi Aggarwal, Dr Amit and Priyanka also accompanied the YGPT Team.
YGPT is the youth wing of the socio-spiritual organization – Maitri Bodh Parivaar and its approach towards stress management and youth development has been holistic and complementary to any other rational approach. YGPT was founded by Transformation Pioneer – Maitreya Dadashreeji who is also a qualified Medical Doctor.
Others present in the seminar were Er Manjeet Singh HoD Electrical Engineering Department, Er Rani Rakhwal HoD IT, Dheeraj Kumar Incharge NSS, Sakshi Kapahi Lecturer I&C Department, Manu Rajput Demonstrator Architecture Department, Vicky Sharma faculty Electrical Engineering Department, Ashok Verma, faculty I&C Department, Toshi Devi (PET), Bharti Chadha Librarian, Nirja Devi, Vinay Sharma (Instructor IRG), Ritu Manhas (Instructor IRG) and other Staff members and students were also present.
