JAMMU, May 4: The Government of Union Territory of J&K has ordered an inquiry into the Bikram Chowk-Gandhinagar Flyover case which has again drawn the attention of the UT Administration and the public for allegedly being `technically defective’.
Official sources said that as reported by the “Excelsior” recently about bumpy drive and technical flaws in 1.3 kms long Bikram Chowk-Gandhinagar Flyover, constructed by ERA with the cost of Rs 77 crores, the LG’s Administration has initiated an inquiry into the matter.
Sources further added that while referring to the certain technical defects in the construction and huge cost involved, the Government has sought a detailed factual report from the Chief Engineer, R&B Jammu through Divisional Commissioner Jammu with regard to all the technical aspects, flaws and remedial measures taken so far as this flyover is already under the maintenance by the R&B department and submit the report within one month positively.
