Govt not serious in caste-based Census: JKKRS

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Sept 2:   All J&K Kashyap Rajput Sabha (JKKRS) has expressed serious concern over the manner in which the State Government is making review of its Socio-Economic and Caste Census, which was conducted in the year 2011-12 to identify the masses living Below Poverty Line in the country.
In a meeting of the Sabha held here today, the president of the Bahu Fort Unit of the Sabha, Anil Kumar Kashyap, alleged that the State Government like earlier again started this process without any public notices and without any awareness among the society, which clearly indicates that it is not serious in this type of Census.
Prof BL Bhardwaj said that OBC castes and communities residing in the State have remained main sufferers as their census has not been done since 1931 due to which the State Government is pretending this plea and not giving them 27% reservation in State Government services as per Supreme Court Verdict-1992 on Mandal Commission Report-1980.
