Govt not paying attention towards ST, weaker sections: Khatana

JAMMU, Mar 20: Gover-nment is not paying attention towards the Schedule Tribe (ST) and the weaker sections of society.
This was stated by Nazakat Khatana, State President, Gujjar Bakerwal Youth Desh Party during a press conference here today.
He stated that the Government is not utilizing funds which are available for ST Tribal Affairs Fund, Social Welfare Fund for scholarship of ST students, TSP Fund are not utilizing as a result they will get lapsed.
“The condition of mobile school in J&K is very bad. Under rule, the people of only ST community can get job in these schools. But by violating the rules in various places, people of other community are being placed in these schools”, he added.
He stated that there is no specific market in J&K for wool selling and there should be a specific market for wool selling at Rs 150.
In India, each state is having political reservation for STs, but in J&K, the ST community is having no political reservation, Khatana maintained.
Among others present were Mohammad Aslam, Allah Rakha, Jamat Ali Sandori, Mohammad Raja and Rafaqat Ajaz.
