Govt let down people hit by cloudburst in Leh: Mir, Jora

SRINAGAR, Aug 20:  Blaming  PDP- BJP Coalition Govt for being non-serious about the sufferings and  problems of the cloudburst- hit people of  Leh, PCC president GA Mir and former Minister Rigzin Jora have alleged that `coalition’ has let down the affected people of Ladakh region.
In a joint statement both PCC chief and  CLP  leader Nawang Rigzin Jora castigated the Coalition Govt for  ignoring cloudburst hit people of  Leh. Both the leaders condemned the indifferent attitude of Coalition Govt about their rehabilitation.
They said that last month’s  cloudburst has left large number of families shelterless. Coalition Govt has not even bothered to send a team there for assessment of  loss caused  due to cloud  burst, they termed the silence of Coalition Govt about rehabilitation as criminal and condemnable.
While taking strong notice of the problems confronting the affected people they  expressed serious concern over the heavy damages caused due to cloudburst resulting large number of families were left homeless, they said.
Referring to the cloudburst that took place at Leh in 2010, both the leaders recalled the efforts made by the previous NC and Congress  Coalition about the relief, rehabilitation & compensation to the cloudburst hit people.  They said  the previous regime left no stone unturned  in rehabilitating the affected people and ensured compensation to every family who lost their nears and dears in that incident.
They asked the Govt to shun the step motherly attitude about People of Ladakh region as this is fraught with dangerous consequences for the coalition Govt ahead.
