HIRANAGAR, Mar 10: BJP candidate for Kathua-Udhampur-Doda constituency, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the Government has remained perpetually indifferent to problems of border area people.
Addressing a series of road-shows and a massive public rally here today, he said the demands relating to cross-border firing, compensation for the land offered for security purposes and reservation in educational institutions for border area youth remain unattended.
Referring to Hiranagar as the land of martyrs, Dr Jitendra Singh demanded district status for it.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, BJP is the only viable democratic option for self-respecting patriotic people, particularly in a State like Jammu & Kashmir, because here the other major national party, Congress, has in its bid for power, yielded space to separatist-friendly regional parties. This makes the responsibility of a BJP ”Karyakarta” all the more crucial because the entire nation looks up to him for holding aloft the Tricolour of Indian sovereignty in J&K, he added.
BJP is not controlled by any dynasty and It could choose a tea seller with a humble background as its Prime Ministerial candidate because, unlike several other parties, it is not a mother-son or father-son party. Modi has arrived as a lease of fresh air to liberate the masses suffering from suffocation of price rise, corruption and exploitation, he said.
In order to get the real benefit of the forthcoming Modi Government at the Center, Dr Jitendra Singh said, people in the State will have to ensure that they vote for BJP candidate in Parliament from Kathua so that they get adequate representation in the Center.
MLA Hiranagar Durga Dass who accompanied Dr Singh in road shows while speaking said if MP is also elected from same party it will provide better results for the people.
Thakur Ranjit Singh,senior BJP leader said, people of Hiranagar have always supported nationalist forces and the BJP.
Rajeev Jasrotia, BJP State general secretary, made a fervent appeal to vote for Dr Jitendra Singh saying, a vote for Dr Jitendra will be a vote for Narendra Modi.
Advocate Vijay district President, Inderjeet, general secretary (Org), Prem Nath Dogra district vice president and other prominent leaders were also present.
